Vidya Jyoti Association (VJA) is honoured to have Smt. Neera Bharagava as its President. An advocate by profession and qualification, she did not step into the lucrative employment in the Advocacy sector. Her devotion to the social work made her to work in Social Fields and this itself speaks volumes about her commitment to the society. The advocate turned social worker provides the leadership to the organization. Having the belief in participatory approaches, the management of the organization, under her leadership, is moulded in the true spirit of voluntarism. She had several accolades for her service and grabbed many appreciations for her services in the voluntary sector from both Government and Non-Government Agencies.
Smt. Neera Bhargava, the President of Vidya Jyoti Association for Education & Resource Development is a graduate in Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University. She is also elected as President of the Social Service League of Lady Irwin College from 1970 to 1973. She is passionate about social service and started working as a social worker at the young age of 20 & in 1999, she’s decided to set up an Organisation for poor and needy people, who built the community and generate livelihood for their better future. She has compassion towards the sufferings of deprived and downtrodden sections of the society. She was surprised seeing the atrocities and discrimination faced by women, children, Dalits and hence decided to support them with equity, justice and empowerment. She has been struggling to mobilize resources for the cause of poor and needy. She aims to distribute resources equally to all the sections of society.
